THE DEBUT EP
PETRI DISH
Petri Dish is the debut EP from Melodyhead.

Better Things To Do
Stomping drums, gritty vocals and infectious melody are some of the ingredients in this track, alongside expressive sax floating in and out with the guitar riffs. Overlay this with husky vocals and you have a decent alternative rock track.
The Cure meets Alice In Chains?

Up In Smoke
Blistering guitar work and driving energy gives this track a tight sound. The funky riff adds garage grit and the drumming from Eric Crisp is truly solid, making this a real foot stomping rock track.

The Question
"The Question" is a song written by Bryan (vulch) Wilkin and Paul Fairweather a few years back in Manchester. Melodyhead joined forces with Kelly Roddy and Dave Foulger from Cosmic Slop and recorded the track, and here it is. a song about why people choose to make other peoples life difficult.

Outside My Window
This is the first recorded track on the EP. It has a real raw feel to it alongside some tech riffs that give it rhythm. Nice heavy guitar intro too!

Blow
This track has real swagger, the steam train rhythm and deep bass makes you automatically snap your fingers and move your shoulders. The raspy gritty vocals have slight overtones of Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits. Overall a catchy tune with a slack mood.
Somewhere....................... the ghost of Tom Waits smiles.........

With this EP, Melodyhead have arguably personified why they’re getting a lot of attention this year. Its composition and genre spanning dare-say gives the music an addictive flavour. Melodyhead "Petri Dish" EP can also be heard on Soundcloud.
